Meet Shawna, Founder of The Pet Nanny of SWFL

How it all started:

Shawna, the founder of The Pet Nanny, has been a devoted animal lover from an early age. Her first true love was a Cattle Dog/Shepard mix named Bishop, and that bond set the foundation for a lifelong passion for caring for pets.

As an adult, while building a successful career in corporate finance and accounting, Shawna rescued multiple German Shepherds, all with challenging backgrounds. She provided them with a calm, loving, and structured home where they could heal, grow, socialize, and fully enjoy the good life—complete with endless treats, plenty of belly and butt scratches, and lots of snuggles.

After more than 20 years in corporate finance and accounting, Shawna knew it was time for a more fulfilling path. Drawing on her professional background, desire to help her community, and personal experience as a pet parent, she founded The Pet Nanny of SWFL to provide high-quality, dependable pet care from a responsible, career professional.

Like many pet owners, Shawna often struggled to find consistent, reliable care for her own pets while traveling or attending to family needs. That challenge inspired the mission behind The Pet Nanny.

What sets The Pet Nanny apart is that we aren’t just another dog walking or pet sitting service. We become a trusted, reliable extension of your family—someone you can count on when you need help. We provide responsible, compassionate care for your pets as if they were our own.
